Rather than a simple compilation for the film, this record captures the atmosphere of 1982 Jamaican music, blending roots reggae, dub, and cinematic score.

Beyond serving as a direct source for Hip-Hop sampling, the appeal lies in hearing artists ranging from Bob Marley to Lee Perry and Wally Badarou on a single project. The concept of reediting existing recordings to present them within a new cinematic context is fascinating, especially when tracing the evolution of sampling and remix culture.

Details
Format : 2LP Vinyl, Soundtrack
Label : Island Records
Catalog Number : ISTDA 1
Distribution : Tuff Gong International
Country / Year : Jamaica, 1982
Genre : Reggae / Roots Reggae / Dub / Soundtrack

Key Tracks :
“Natural Mystic” – Bob Marley & The Wailers
“Rat Race” – Bob Marley & The Wailers
“Jah Live” – Bob Marley & The Wailers
“Dreadlocks In Moonlight” – Lee Perry
“Bam Bam” – Toots & The Maytals
“Theme From Countryman” – Wally Badarou

Condition : VG
Jacket : Good
Vinyl : Good
Inner Sleeve : Missing

Graded VG.
