Ohio Players - Contradiction

Released in 1976, "Contradiction" is the eighth album from the Ohio Players.

Packed with the band's signature grooves, this album features everything from funk and soul to mellow ballads.

In particular, the B2 track “My Life” is known to hip hop listeners for being sampled in De La Soul feat. Common’s “Days Of Our Lives.”

With tracks like A2 “Precious Love” and A4 “Far East Mississippi,” it is also an enjoyable album for digging into sampling sources.

70s funk being passed down to the hip hop that followed.

A record that allows you to see such musical connections just by listening to it.
