Ray Charles - Love Country Style

Ray Charles' *Love Country Style*, released in 1970.

A record in which Ray Charles interprets Country & Western songs through his signature lens of Soul, R&B, and Jazz.

Includes covers such as Johnny Cash’s “Ring of Fire,” Jimmy Webb’s “I Keep It Hid,” and Mickey Newbury’s “Sweet Memories.”

Rather than playing Country straight, he reworks the songs into his own music through his unique arrangements, rhythms, and vocals.

A work that captures the essence of Ray Charles, an artist who effortlessly transcended genre boundaries.

Rather than a quintessential sampling record that links directly to later Hip Hop, this is an album to enjoy for Ray Charles’ own musical philosophy as he roams freely across Soul, Jazz, and Country.
