Roberta Flack – Feel Like Makin' Love

A masterpiece by Roberta Flack, released in 1974.

The title track, "Feel Like Makin' Love," is a beautiful soul ballad written by Eugene McDaniels. This was the first album produced by Roberta herself, using her pseudonym "Rubina Flake" for the production credit.

In fact, the title track was released as a single ahead of the album, hitting #1 on the US Billboard Hot 100. It became Flack’s third consecutive No. 1 hit.

This album is also quite interesting for Hip Hop sample diggers.

A2 "I Wanted It Too" was sampled in Blu & Exile's "Show Me the Good Life," and B3 "Early Ev'ry Midnite" was sampled in Pete Rock's "Revenge."

Beyond her beautiful singing voice, this is a record that also catches the ear of beatmakers.

It is an interesting record whether you listen to it for pleasure or for hunting samples.
