SWV – It's All About U

A 12-inch single by SWV released on RCA in 1996.

A single cut from their second album, New Beginning, produced by Allen “Allstar” Gordon Jr.

Features the group's signature soulful three-part vocals layered over a bouncy 90s-style beat.

The A-side includes the LP Version, while the B-side contains the Instrumental and A Cappella versions.

Typical of R&B 12"s from that era, it is interesting to note that it was designed not just for listening, but also for DJs, remixes, and sampling.

“It's All About U” itself was later sampled in Nancey Jackson feat. Frankie Cutlass's “Free (Yes I'm Free).”

A time when 90s R&B and Hip Hop naturally intersected.

A record that perfectly captures the vibe of 90s R&B, perfect for listening alongside artists like TLC, Mary J. Blige, and Aaliyah.
